Health Care for Everyone
Mark has personally and repeatedly experienced the failures of our healthcare system as a child, as a young adult, and as a parent. He knows that too many families are forced into bankruptcy by a serious illness. Mark also understands that reform must control costs, while also guaranteeing everyone access to quality, affordable care. Too few of us have the quality care we need. For too long we’ve paid more and more for a system that delivers less and less.
Under President Obama’s leadership, we’re making progress – like requiring insurance companies to cover people with pre-existing conditions. But we need to do more.
As State Representative, Mark will fight for a Medicare-for-all style health care system that guarantees quality care for everyone. We shouldn’t lose our health care if we change or lose our job. Instead, we should move toward a system where everyone can choose their doctor but never loses coverage, no matter what. It’s simpler and less expensive than what we have now. Mark believes we should offer everyone the same health plan available to the legislature and state workers.
