Mark believes that politics as usual is broken and that lobbyists and special interests have too much control over our state legislature. That’s why Mark is turning down or returning all campaign contributions from lobbyists and special interest political action committees (PACs). He knows this is the only way that voters will trust him to represent the needs of the community, rather than bowing to the demands of money and influence.
Instead of relying so heavily on lobbyists and interest groups to define our priorities and write our laws, we need to move toward a system driven by the voters. Mark doesn’t just want to be part of the solution; he’s taking a leadership role in redefining the way candidates run their campaigns. Mark is knocking on doors and making phone calls to voters almost every day of the campaign. The solutions he hopes to bring to the state house will come from residents of House District 7, not the groups that have donated to his campaign.
