Jobs and the Economy

As a small business owner, Mark understands that providing quality, high paying jobs is key for supporting our community and families.  Here is what Mark will do as state representative to make that happen:

Growing Small Businesses

As state representative, Mark will work with local small businesses to help them find the loans and investors they need to grow, as well as the trained workforce they need to succeed.  When Mark opened his business, he had to file paperwork with half a dozen government offices and agencies.  It doesn’t need to be that complicated.  If we want our local economy to flourish, we should put all of those documents, forms, and information in one office and on one easy-to-use website.

In addition to helping small companies get started, Mark is committed to working with renewable energy companies located elsewhere to find the space and workforce they need right here in Northeast Denver.  Mark will make sure the State of Colorado is a partner in growth with renewable energy companies, as well as our current local businesses.  He will also work to help manufacturing companies find the financing they need to grow.

Creating High-Wage Jobs

We don’t just want jobs in Northeast Denver – we need to find careers on which we can rely. Careers pay a living wage, not the minimum wage.  Careers come with benefits, not just a paycheck.  Careers give us the job security we need to sleep at night knowing we can provide for our loved ones.

Mark wants to make sure we all have the ability to get the skills and training for today’s jobs.  That means we need to bring more career education programs back to our high schools and make those programs available to everyone.  His first bill will do just that.

Northeast Denver needs someone working to bring more jobs here and making sure they go to people that live in the area.  We are all better off if we can work near where we live.  That’s why Mark will personally contact growing companies to make sure they know about the tax credits, great infrastructure, and superb workforce available to them in Northeast Denver.  When local companies are hiring, Mark will make sure the community knows by going door-to-door and calling people personally, if that’s what it takes.

Politics as usual isn’t getting the job done.  As your state representative, Mark will.  To discuss economic issues in more detail, give Mark a call at 720-840-8492 or send him an email at Mark@VoteMark2010.com.
